Your Menstrual Cycle: What do Irregular Cycles Mean?

• One of the most common causes of irregular cycles and infertility is a disorder called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
  
• Other symptoms related to the abnormal hormone levels associated with PCOS include:
• Acne
• Excess hair growth on the body (hirsutism) and male-pattern hair loss
• Obesity and weight gain
• Elevated insulin levels and insulin resistance
• Oily skin
• Skin discolorations
• High cholesterol levels
• Elevated blood pressure, and
• Multiple, small cysts in the ovaries
   
• This seminar will discuss the hormones involved in the menstrual cycle and PCOS.
   
• Find out about the risk factors and treatment options for this metabolic disorder.
