Born in Detroit, I spent most of my life in Michigan before moving to California in 1977. I completed my education at Wayne State University in Detroit, where I received my B.S. and M.D. degrees. Following my internship at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California, I returned to Michigan to complete my residency in Ob-Gyn at Wayne State. After serving two years in the Air Force as Chief of Ob-Gyn Services at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., I moved to the San Jose area in 1977 with my wife and daughter. Our second daughter was born in California. I began practice here with a multi-specialty group and then entered solo practice for five years. In 1986, I joined Loma Vista so that I could continue an active medical practice while also allowing time for my family.
Since arriving in San Jose, I have been active in local medical organizations while maintaining a busy ob-gyn practice. At Good Samaritan Hospital, I have served as Chairman of the Ob-Gyn Department, Secretary-Treasurer of the Medical Staff, Chairman of the Credentials Committee, and member of the Board of Trustees of the Hospital for several years. In addition, I was honored to serve as President of the Shufelt Gynecological Society of Santa Clara Valley. As a member of the Santa Clara County Medical Association, I served as Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee, and I am currently a member of the Public Service and Ethics Committees.
Originally certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1977, I was recertified in 1999. I have a well-established practice at Loma Vista and value the many long-term friendships that have been made there with my patients and colleagues. Seeing my patients on a regular basis and hearing about them and their families adds to the enjoyment of my office practice where I am able to provide medical care and advice in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. While I treasure these established relationships, I still enjoy welcoming new patients to my practice at Loma Vista, where I continue to offer both obstetrical and gynecological services.
My favorite hobbies are spending time with my wife and family, reading, sports of all kinds, and hiking.
