If you have an urgent issue we will make every effort to make sure you are seen as soon as possible by the first available physician. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please telephone the office at least one day in advance to cancel. We will make every effort to notify you in the event that we are delayed by a delivery or an emergency.
After Hours
After hours, your doctor or an associate will be available for urgent situations or emergencies. Instructions for contacting your doctor, or the doctor on call, are available by calling our main number 408-358-1888. You can also leave a message for less urgent matters. If you do not get a response within 20 minutes, the doctor on-call may be attending to another patient, please call back. Please note there may be a charge for non-urgent advice calls.
Prescription Refills
A refill request must be made during normal business hours; there may be a charge for refills made after hours. The last authorized refill serves as a reminder to you of the appropriate time for follow-up
Telephone Consults
In general, our doctors prefer to meet with patients face to face. However, in cases where the patient prefers to speak by phone, telephone consultations are available by appointment, at the same fee schedule as a comparable office visit.
Patient Confidentiality
Matters of a sensitive nature are apt to be discussed in the office; all communications are strictly confidential. The only exception is when required by law. If you are under the care of another physician for an active problem, please request that your records be sent before your first appointment. The law requires that such a request be made in writing. Also, please bring the names and dosages of all medicines that you are taking, especially if you need a refill. The receptionist may request more information over the telephone, for appointments other than annual exams. This additional information allows us to schedule sufficient time for your visit, particularly if the issues are complex.
